Hey Kirk… it always seemed to me that the notion of choosing Christ was akin to a mouse commanding a lion.

i agree…but perhaps that expression comes from us being “without Christ” eph 2 and then when He saved us we received the holy spirit and now we have “christ in you, the hope of glory”…
i bet that is why people started using that phrase, though i don’t prefer it.
kinda like when people say, “lose your salvation”…bad semantics for sure.

John 1:11-12, “…and those who were His own did not receive Him. But as many as received Him…”
We do receive Christ, but I think this thought puts an accurate perspective on it.
Is receiving Christ for me or because of Him.
